Maybe what I wasn't clear on was that my central point wasn't meant to be villification of Rittenhouse or the judge (although I acknowledge I did some of that) but of a society that sees an armed seventeen year old shoot three people in a riot, and says that's fine because it meets our standard of self-defense. That's not something that would be accepted in most stable, prosperous societies, and it's frightening. Noone wants to see America fall apart.
