The Monkey's Paw is a classic of course, and one which I parodied to no great success on this very platform. Not technically a ghost story though.

I also love the Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde and The Open Window by Saki, both of which are comic rather than scary, but wonderful nevertheless.
