It’s logical when the toxic behaviour is considered necessary for men to retain their (superior) status within the society. Honour killings in certain cultures are a good example. The problem is that men in most societies, under certain circumstances and by generally accepted rules, are rewarded for being violent assholes. This is rarely true for women.

And suggesting that "toxic masculinity" implies all masculinity is toxic makes as much sense as saying that 'poisonous mushrooms" makes people think all mushrooms are poison.

I'm having trouble understanding why anyone would be so threatened by this concept.
