You may have heard that Medium is hosting an all-day virtual event on August 12, where a multitude of Medium staff, writers, editors, and others will be giving presentations on a variety of subjects.

I will be one of that multitude, and I guarantee that my presentation-discussion will be the best of the day. Possibly the best presentation-discussion ever presented or discussed.

Sorry, that’s almost certainly not true but my life coach said I had to exude confidence and that you will agree that the above sentence has unearned confidence oozing from its grammatical pores.

Medium has many excellent writers who are subject matter experts, and it can be intimidating to go up against them as an amateur. I learned this by writing about climate change, quantum physics and other topics on which I have no formal — or let’s face it, informal — training or qualification.
