I'm been a pessimist on this since I first heard it called "the biggest unknown news story of 20th century" aroujnd 1999, but I've got a nine year old son so I try to retain some hope.
Hard to disagree with anything you've said. Most people are either completely ignorant, or misunderstand the risks. The media play up things like flooding and fires which are horrifying enough, but don't talk much about what happens if the American Midwest, Ukraine, Australia become dustbowls or inland lakes. We've built a world, and a food production systems, based on a Goldilocks climate. Now we're modifying it radically and shrugging our shoulders and saying "I guess it'll be ok."
