I will shower you with praise because you're a terrific writer and deserve it, and couldn't agree more that humour deserves at least the same attention as pity porn (I'm not guiltless of the latter btw, please view my MWC entry on the passing of my mother for my attempt at the genre.)

I do have a problem in that an Honourable Mention by a writer whose work I respect makes it difficult for me to synthesize the kind of sour grapes contempt that I normally would for any and all winners of contests who aren't me.
