That said, when I googled UK hospitals, the first thing that came up was an article about how waiting lists were higher than they’d ever been due to COVID, which is literally what I was talking about. And where I live we just set a single-day record for ICU admissions.

We mandate all kinds of things without the incessant whining you’re parroting above, including vaccines for school kids. Why people won’t take a safe and effective vaccine to protect themselves and their neighbours is unclear to me, but it’s an ideology I have trouble getting behind.
