Great rant. Social media both creates and reflects a world where as you note if you accept one element of a political "package" of ideas - say, that borders are too porous-- you're supposed to embrace the rest of the package, ie also be an anti-vaxxer and a MAGA. It's bonkers but it's great for creating conflict and engagement.
